How it works
Three moves. No new habits.
Hold
A keyboard shortcut or a mouse side button — you choose it in setup.
Speak
Naturally — ums, pauses and half-thoughts included. A small pill shows it’s listening.
Release
Tidied, punctuated text lands at your cursor in under a second.
Nothing to upload.
Nothing to leak.
Talk and Type processes your speech entirely on your Mac. Your voice never leaves your machine, and your words never touch a cloud server. It’s privacy by architecture, not by policy.
- Works offline after one model download
- No telemetry, no analytics
- History stays local — export or clear it
Your Mac only
Cleans up after you
Fillers removed, punctuation and capitalisation handled, spoken lists become real lists — every rule a toggle, and it never rewrites your meaning.
It knows your words
Names, products, technical terms — spelt right every time, from a dictionary that lives on your Mac.
Works everywhere
Slack, mail, docs, code editors — every text field on your Mac, even the terminal. It lands at your cursor, every time.
Your history, exportable
Every dictation kept on your Mac — searchable, re-pasteable, deletable. One click turns any of it into clean markdown for your notes app, your repo, or your AI of choice.

Questions
The short answers
›Which Macs does it run on?
Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. The download is about 5 MB; on first run it fetches an on-device speech model (roughly 1 GB) once.
›Is it really free?
Yes. The core app is free forever — no word caps, no trial that expires, no tricks. Optional paid extras may come later, but the free app stays free.
›Why does it ask for Accessibility and Microphone permissions?
The microphone is how it hears you; Accessibility is macOS's name for apps that type on your behalf. One to listen, one to type — that's all.
›Does anything go to the cloud?
No. Transcription happens on your Mac's Neural Engine. There's no server because there's nothing to send.
›Does it update itself?
Auto-updates are coming. Preview builds are replaced manually for now — grab the newest version from this site.
